Overview
As part of the WaterWoman Project, WaterRising Institute hosted the Gender and Youth Hub to inspire entry into water careers. The day of programming featured utility, private industry, associations, NGO, and philanthropy leaders sharing the importance of water management in protecting public health and the environment, and the exciting technology that is taking the water sector digital while protecting our most important resource.
Discussion focused on how water jobs can provide sustainable careers and prosperity, especially for women and people of color, from right inside the communities our water sector serves. Attendees included STEM students, young professionals (YPs) and mid-career workers from the NYC metropolitan area.
